45th Anniversary Concert: An Anniversary Concert
On Saturday 27th April 2019, the Carnegie Singers celebrated their 45th Anniversary, with ‘An Anniversary Concert’ in the Theatre Royal Workington.
The choir under the baton of resident Conductor and Musical Director Stephen Hunter-Brown and accompanied by resident Accompanist Scott Miller together with the Etoile String Quartet as orchestral support.
During this concert the choir was joined by renowned Workington Tenor Antony McGuckin who sang “If I was a rich man” from Fiddler on the Roof and The Prayer dueting with choir Soprano Jean Dakers.
The choir sung excerpts from Vivaldi’s Gloria (with choir Soprano Glenis Holliday singing Domine Deus and Stephen Hunter-Brown on oboe), an Irving Berlin medley, a Broadway musicals medley and a George Gershwin medley arranged by Scott Miller.
The Carnegie Singers would like to thank the Theatre Royal for their hospitality and for allowing them to use the theatre for our anniversary concert, Scott Miller and the Etoile String Quartet for their orchestral support, and to their soloists Antony, Jean and Glenis on supporting the choir in musical numbers.
